VIDEO : CRISTIANO RONALDO WALKS OUT OF PRESS CONFERENCE

Cristiano Ronaldo left journalists bewildered yesterday after he walked out of a press conference angry after being asked why his goal tally away from home had dried up recently.

The Portugal captain has failed to score away from home since putting one past Eibar in La Liga on November 29. Ronaldo has scored 21 goals at home this season compared to 11 at away games but the Journalists felt Ronaldo isn't at his magical best compared to previous seasons given that he recently turned 31.

Asked by a journalist ahead of Real Madrid's Chmpions league match with AS Roma in Rome why his goal tally had reduced recently, Ronaldo growled in Spanish:

"Why have I struggled to score away from home? Can you name one player who has scored more away from home than me since I've been in Spain? No, you can't; there aren't any. Bye everyone".

MAN RECIEVES MONEY TO STAY MUTE OVER WIFE'S DEATH AFTER WIFE DIES IN MARATHON SEX WITH 4 CHINESE MEN

Man bribed to keep quiet over wife’s death in marathon sex session at Gov Emmanuel’s building site in Awa, Onna LGA
A messy sex scandal has blown up in the face of the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Deacon Udom Emmanuel. Sources in Awa, Governor Udom Emmanuel’s village in Onna local government area, said the deadly act of Sodomy took place about three weeks ago but information about the calamity is just coming into the open now.

The details of the steamy story of gang sex, booze and death are that Chinese construction workers who are currently building a multi-billion naira country mansion for the governor of Akwa Ibom State, Deacon Udom Emmanuel, in his home town of Awa, one day about three weeks ago felt like satisfying the desire of the flesh after being separated from their spouses for months. So the Chinese men reportedly commissioned a local man who worked with them on site to arrange a woman for them to help them ease tension.

According to the sources, the Chinese construction workers who wanted escapades were four in all. Their love-vendor brought a local married woman, who they agreed to pay N40,000 at a rate of N10,000 per man. The woman’s name was given as Mrs Mercy Samuel Akpa Umoh of Udo Okpon family in Ikot Ishiet village in Onna local government area. It is gathered that after some negotiation, the woman agreed to sleep with the four Chinese construction workers four the N40,000 with each man taking his turn.
Once the fee was agreed, the marathon sex session began. But somewhere into the act, tragedy struck. The woman, who must have had too much from the four agile young men, died while Udom’s construction workers were taking their turns against her.

A storm followed. On learning of the incident, the husband of the deceased, Mr Samuel Akpa Umoh, informed his family members about what had had happened. A complaint was laid with the village head. Samuel’s family members and the biological family members of his deceased wife, who was from the family of Ufot Mbe in Ikot Ebiere village in Onna local area, came together in grief and anger and planned to storm Udom’s construction site to get the Chinese culprits.

The governor was promptly tipped off. He wasted no time in rushing home to hold a peace meeting with the families of the deceased. After much negotiation, the governor was asked to seal the lips of the grieving families with a compensation of N20,000,000 (twenty million naira). He promptly paid the money and begged them not to ever tell anyone about what happened.

He pleaded with the families of the deceased to cooperate with him and hush up the matter to avoid giving his political opponents a weapon to fight him with. He explained to them that if the fatal sex scandal leaked it would be seized upon by his political opponents to embarrass him with it, adding that the losers will not be the Chinese but his administration

FAMILY KICKS AS POLICE SHOOT KILLS 33 YEAR OLD MAN IN LAGOS

There was tension in the Ebute Oniyanrin in the Ilaje, Bariga area of Lagos on Tuesday after a police sergeant, Adekan Adesola, shot dead a 33-year-old man, Abiodun Balogun.

The police, however, said Abiodun, known as Anarchy, was a wanted cultist, and died during an exchange of fire.

PUNCH Metro learnt that Abiodun, who worked as a moulder in a block industry, had been called by a friend at about 8am to come to the Oniyanrin area as Sallah gifts were going to be shared by politicians.

It was gathered that Abiodun, who reportedly went with an unidentified friend, was however, manhandled by the police sergeant.

It was learnt that Adesola, who was not in uniform, allegedly dragged Abiodun on the ground, before shooting him.

Abiodun’s friend was said to have escaped from the scene.

Our correspondent gathered that the deceased’s mother, Aishat Balogun, who was called on the telephone that her son had been shot by a policeman, had gone to the Bariga Police Division, where the sergeant was attached and where the corpse was taken to.

The woman was reportedly barred from entering to see Abiodun.

When PUNCH Metro visited Ajileye Street where the Baloguns’ lived, sympathisers lamented the death.

Aishat, who spoke with our correspondent in Yoruba, claimed that the police sergeant had been looking for Balogun as a result of her son’s refusal to join the Eiye cult group which dominated the area.

She said, “I was still with him on Monday, and we were discussing how we would celebrate the Sallah. I did not know that evil was lurking. It was around 8am today (Tuesday) that someone called me and said the sergeant had shot Abiodun dead. The lie they are spreading now is that he was a cultist.

“But the fact is that Adesola is a notorious policeman in our area. He has been shooting at people, claiming that they are cultists. But Abiodun was not a cultist. They had been luring him to join them, but he refused. I do not know the fate of my son presently. I have not been allowed to see him at the police division.”

Our correspondent, however, learnt that the corpse was still at the Bariga Police Division as of the time of report.

Abiodun’s wife, who did not want her name in print, said they were together in the morning when her husband received a call that he should come for Sallah gifts at the Oniyanrin area.

She said, “We were together till around 7am when that phone call came in. So, he went to the area to collect his gift.

“That was where Adesola met and shot him. The policeman was in mufti, and Abiodun was not carrying a gun. He did not have any weapon.”

Other workers and friends of the deceased at his block industry who spoke with PUNCH Metro claimed that Abiodun was murdered in cold blood by the policeman.

The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Joe Offor, however, said Abiodun was a wanted cultist by the police, adding that the 33-year-old was shot dead during an exchange of gunfire.

He added that the matter had been transferred to the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, Ikeja, for further investigation.

He said, “He was a wanted cultist by the police. He died during the exchange of fire. He was known in the area as Anarchy. The case has been taken to SARS for further investigation.”

The two culprits Oke Akindele, an herbalist, who lives at 1, Palace road, Agido, Igbogila and Timothy Oniyide, 19, a welder, residing at 3, Olorunsogo street, Igan-Alade in Yewa North local government area of Ogun state.

The third person, Monday Kugbi, who lives at Kafe town in Igan – Alade fled upon seeing the officer last night, while his pregnant wife, Mary Kugbi, 20, was picked up by the Legion.

The Legion, acted upon a tip off, stormed the Igan – Alade community in Yewa North local government area of the state, where the incident occurred.

Narrating the incident to a PM News correspondent, the Squad Leader of the Nigerian Legion, AOLG, Second Lt. Olorumleke Oluwaseyi disclosed that it took them hours to arrest the culprits while one of them fled away.

“We got the information that some persons were digging a corpse in Igan-Alade area and when we got to the area around 11:00 pm last night, we conducted our investigation and two names were given to us.

“We picked Timothy, who is the principal suspect at their house where the crime was conducted while his friend, Monday ran away upon seeing our men. We have arrested his wife and still in search of him.

“The herbalist, 50, was the man that gave them a soap to bath with inside a dug space on the corpse,” Oluwaseyi explained.

“We left the town for Abeokuta late last night and passed the night at Eleweran in Abeokuta.

“We were directed this morning to go back to Aiyetoro, the jurisdiction where the incident occurred for proper complain, from where the matter will be transferred to the headquarters,” the Legion boss narrated.

Interrogating the culprits this morning at the headquarters of the Nigerian Legion at Oke Ilewo, Abeokuta, it was gathered that Timothy and some of his friends had gone to the herbalist over the weekend to collect another medicine before they were caught.
Speaking with PM News, the herbalist, who hails from Igangan, Benin Republic said, “Timothy came to me that he wanted a medicine that will make him to be bold and strong hearted. He came with about six other persons. I don’t know anyone of them except Timothy. I gave them a powder to put into an incision to be made on their chest and back.

“I never gave Timothy or anybody soap to bath with on the corpse. I gave them only powder for incision,” the herbalist explained.

Contradicting the herbalist’s claim, Timothy maintained that the herbalist gave him the soap to bath with inside a dug space on the grave.

“I went to him to give me something that will make me rich and wealthy because my business was no more yielding profit. He gave me the soap and that was about a month ago and on Saturday again, I was there with six other persons and he gave us another powder to rub an incision on our chest and back.

“Other people that went with me to the herbalist are Prophet Adiitu of Celestial church, Ijoun, Baba Bukky (Prophet Omilende), Igbogila and one other Prophet from Cherubim and Seraphim and three of my friends.

As at the time of filling this report, arrangements were in top gear to move the culprits to Aiyetoro Police station as directed by the Police headquarters in Eleweran, Abeokuta.

THE MYSTERIOUS DEATH OF FOUR WOMEN WHO DIED TOGETHER IN A ROOM PRAYING

If Mrs. Chinwe Obi, a staff of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Awka, had a premonition of her death, she didn’t show it; rather, she was busy making preparations to give her dear departed husband a befitting burial.

The husband, a business man based in Cotonou reportedly died in a in unclear circumstance a week before Chinwe’s death. He had come to visit his wife at their Olisa Onyeka Street, Awka apartment when he fell ill and died. His corpse is still at the morgue where Chinwe deposited it before she met with her death.

According to sources, Chinwe had invited three other women of her church, the Omega Power Ministry (OPM) for an all night special prayers. The first inkling that something could be amiss was when all calls put across to Chinwe’s telephone line went unanswered. Thereafter, her neighbours started perceiving a foul smell coming out from her apartment.

In a chat with Daily Times, Mrs. Ify Onyebumo, the landlady of the apartment where Chinwe lived for close to a year, disclosed that she was contacted on phone by one of her tenants saying they have been looking for the deceased since Sunday.

Onyebumuo noted that the tenant informed her that a foul smell and water was coming out from Chinwe’s room, adding that she had not picked her calls since Sunday.

A similar call was also placed to the caretaker of the house, Mr. Machie Ignatius to intimate him of the development going on at the house.

This prompted the landlady and the caretaker of the house to invite a detachment of policemen led by the Anambra State Police Commissioner of Police, Mr. Hassan Karma to the building.

On arrival, Karma took an inspection of the compound along with his officers and men of the command and ultimately forced one of the burglary proofs to a window open where the already decomposing bodies of the four women was discovered, clutching their Bibles.

An ambulance was called in and morticians evacuating the four corpses out of the building to the mortuary.

Simon Nwoye, one of the residents in the area who saw the corpses posited that the deceased could be victims of carbon monoxide inhalation.

”You could see from their faces and what I saw around the flat, they may have been killed by the smoke from the generator,” he said.

Mrs. Uloaku Madubugha, another neighbour who lives few buildings away from the scene noted that there is no suspicion of foul play in the death of the victims.

“If someone had broken into the flat, we would have seen evidence of breaking and entry, either through the window or through the door, but there was nothing like that,” she said.

The commissioner of Police in a chat with Daily Times also ruled out foul play in the death of the deceased, but said that investigations will be carried out to ascertain the cause of their death.

In his words, “It’s quite unfortunate; it is something nobody should pray for. There was no sign of violence on their bodies. We also saw a power generating set but there was no fuel in the tank; we also saw a pot of soup there, so we are suspecting carbon monoxide or food poisoning.

“The soup and their bodies would be examined; it is left for an autopsy to be carried out on them in order to find out what killed them,” he said.

One of the last people to see the deceased alive is a motor mechanic, who was contracted by the deceased to help get fuel for her generator; he shared with Daily Times events that preceded the discovery of the women’s corpses.

REASONS WHY SMALL BUSINESSES FAIL IN NIGERIA

Starting businesses is a dream of every entrepreneur. I and a business partner lost some few thousands shy of one million naira just over a year ago. We had undertaken a venture very optimistic of success. We had done the necessary calculations and we were dead-confident that our high-tech viewing centre at Iyana Ipaja would be a hit.
A year and half later; we were folding up. Months of planning and efforts had been wasted, monies had been blown down the drains, our landlord was already on our tails to either pay up as our rents had expired or uproot the structure we had constructed with the hope that it will stand for 10 years at least; we were in a fix. How did it all go wrong?
I will try to outline some of the reasons why I felt our business and other small businesses failed.

5 Reasons why businesses fail in Nigeria

1. Poor location; its been said over and over again; location is everything! We were swamped on every side by other viewing centres who had been in the business way before ours. Because of the way humans are wired, it’s not always easy for the customers to switch to a new brand, or product. Despite the projectors and other unique value propositions we were offering, we were still not making enough to run the business monthly. Its always good to go to a location where you can have the first mover advantage, we didn’t; we had to compete with businesses that had grown there over time and which people are now used to. I highly recommend the blue ocean strategy for small businesses about to start up. This book talks about the simultaneous pursuit of differentiation and low cost to open up a new market space and create new demand for businesses.

2. Misalignment with your customers; its imperative to define your customers and to align with them. This means seeing what they see, feeling what they feel, hearing what they hear, smelling what they smell; you need to do unto them as they would want to be done to. But we did the opposite; we did unto them as we would want to be done to. We were educated, we were technologically savvy, so we tried to revamp the way people watch matches in that neighbourhood. We provided them with technology at a little premium, when all they wanted was cheaper options. And we failed! Businesses that fail to align with their customer’s needs will eventually produce products and services that no one wants.

3. No staying power; its common knowledge that you may not make much money in the first few years in business; but you need to break even nonetheless. That means making enough money to cover your running costs for the period of time. We didn’t! Some businesses fold when they don’t make profit in the first few years. Just like we did.

4. Inappropriate business planning and execution. Some people get a fantastic idea and they rush off into production without any planning whatsoever. Without understanding their landscape. Without knowing if someone in their chosen market already is into similar business. There just seems to be lots of gap. Small businesses need to have a solid business plan. A good business plan not only helps when trying to secure finances for the business but it also aids in understanding different areas of the business and answering lots of question that that the business would need answers to later on. We at lightednation.com, can help you package a great business plan for your business. However execution is everything, you may have the best ideas, but when if you fail at execution, the idea amounts to nothing

5. Managerial inefficiencies; to run businesses successfully, the owners need to be actively involved. We were’nt, I and my partner were working 9 to 5 jobs. We rarely had time to monitor the proceeding albeit over the phone. What you don’t monitor efficiently you lose track of. We did.

There a lot of other reasons that I have not called out here. Please share and comment to help others get lighted!.

CBN HANDS OUT NEW RULES ON ATM OPERATIONS IN NIGERIA

The Central Bank of Nigeria has directed banks to ensure to resolve all Automated Teller Machine (ATM) cardholders’ complaints within a maximum of 72 hours from the date of receipt the complaints or face sanctions. This is contained in a new set of rules to guide transactions, going forward. Where records are falsified by any party, the CBN warns that adequate sanctions shall apply.

In an exposure draft on the standards and guidelines on electronic channels operations in Nigeria, signed Dipo Fatokun, its Director Banking and Payments System Department, the CBN also directed banks or independent organizations that deploy ATM for the use of the public to ensure that the ATM vault replenishment must be carried out as often as possible to avoid cash-out.

They are also to ensure that ATMs are not stocked with unfit notes and that cash is available in the machines at all time.

The CBN also warned that the ATM downtime (due to technical fault) must not be more than seventy-two (72) hours consecutively.

It added however, that where this is not practicable, customers shall be duly informed by the deployer.

They are also to ensure that the helpdesk contacts are adequately displayed at the ATM terminals.

It warned that at the minimum, a telephone line should be dedicated for fault reporting and such telephone line shall be functional and manned at all times that the ATM is operational.

Also, all ATM charges must be fully disclosed to customers, the CBN insists in the new rules.

The apex bank said that there must be appropriate monitoring mechanism to determine failure to dispense cash; and that there is online monitoring mechanism to determine ATM vault cash levels.

“Penalties Sanctions, in the form of monetary penalties / or suspension of the acquiring/processing service (s) or both, would be imposed on erring institutions for failure to comply with any of the provisions of the ATM standards and guidelines or any other relevant guidelines issued by the CBN from time to time,” the apex bank warned.

The funding and operation of the ATM deployed by non-bank institutions should be the sole responsibility of the bank or institutions that entered into agreement with them for cash provisioning and in this regard, the Service Level Agreement (SLA) should specify the responsibilities of each of the parties.

The CBN rules noted that Change of PIN must be provided to customers free of charge throughout the entire value chain, while acquirers monitor suspicious transactions and report statistics to CBN based on the agreed format and timeframe.

Back-up power (inverter) is made available at all ATM locations in such a way that the machine would not cease operation while in the middle of a transaction, the CBN said, adding that Waste disposal basket must be provided at all ATM locations.

A register of all their ATMs in Nigeria with location, identification, serial number of the machines, etc must also be maintained, going forward.

For security reasons, every ATM is required to have cameras which would view and record all ATM Security. “However, such cameras should not be able to record the key strokes of customers using the ATM,” the CBN further noted in the statement pasted on its website.

The CBN now requires any institution which operates an ATM to file an updated list of such machines, including the detail location of their addresses with its Banking & Payments System Department for compliance monitoring.

The CBN also disclosed that it will conduct onsite snap checking of ATMs with a view to ensuring compliance with cash and service availability at the ATMs, as it directed acquirers to report volume and value of transactions on monthly basis to its Director, Banking & Payments System Department.

The track was released last year on the “Geofficial Mixtape (Ayeesha Music Presents)” and surfaced online.
The moving number is not an official single but nonetheless it is amazing and a must have for lovers of music.
