Royal pixy is every bit a
charmer, with her confident and sexy looks reggae accent and wonderful stage
appearance. She sure knows how to warm her ways into the hearts of her
listeners. She started out her career as a radio presenter in HOTFM 99.5 as a
young graduate back in 2012 and still runs good number of shows and programmes
in the named radio station.
She speaks about her career
and social life in this exclusive interview.
HOW DID YOU GET INTRESTED
WITH PRESENTING?
Ans: I always wanted to be a
journalist, so after my graduation I decided to try radio.
HAVE YOU IN ANYWAY WORKED FOR
ANY OTHER BROADCAST FIRM OR COMPANY?
Ans: No
WAS IT EASY FOR YOU GETTING A
JOB IN A RADIO STATION?
Ans: No it wasn’t
at all, Apart from the fact that I studied journalism, work experience was
needed, and at that time I had none
WHAT WERE THE CREDITS THAT
ACTUALLY GAVE YOU YOUR JOB.?
Ans: First I started with a reggae program called#reggaevibes because I chant the Jamaican lingo Popularly known as patwa. that got me on air.
HOW HAVE THE MEDIA AND YOUR
PROFESSION AFFECTED YOU?
Ans: It has honestly affected
my way of life, I wont be wrong if I say it humbled me , now I am very careful
with places I go to, what I do, and people I hang out with,It Has taken me
places and I know it will take me farther than where I am now by Gods Grace
PIXY PEOPLE PICTURE YOU MORE
AS JAMAICAN OR WITH DREADS WHILST YOU APPEAR TO BE SOMETHING VERY DIFFERENT
FROM WHAT THEY HAVE IMAGINED. WHAT WILL YOU SAY ABOUT THAT?
Ans: some people see me and they are like “really
are you pixy How come you don’t have dreadlocks”?
Frank D’nero is a rastaman with no dreads so am i. *laughs*
IF GIVING THE CHANCE WHAT
WILL YOU LIKE TO CHANGE IN THE MEDIA AND ENTERTAINMENT INDUSTRY?
Ans: Honestly the idea of an
artiste singing meaningless songs, also change the way they portray girls as
sex objects, These days you see girls go nude just to appear in a musical video
these days the music says something whilst the video says an entirely different
thing.
THAT SAID HOW WILL YOU RATE
THE STATUS OF OWERRI AND IMO STATE IN THE ENTERTAINMENT SECTOR.
Ans: Well Owerri is still
coming up as regards entertainment, I have observed that people are a bit sceptical about putting in something big when it comes to entertainment,
probably because they see other people tried in the past and it did not really
encourage them. So on the scale of 1-100 I will give imo state 40.
CAN PIXY PLEASE TELL US A
LITTLE ABOUT HER LOVE LIFE?
Ans: *Laughs and shy's
away from the question* And then replies “ Well I am seeing
someone and he’s not in the state though”

ordinary determination “ so in all you do never give up on yourself even if
everyone else does.
