THE END OF ASUP STRIKE IS NEAR

Latest information reaching us has it that the federal government has confirmed the conclusion of payment schedule of ASUP 20.6 Billion as instructed by the President of the federal republic of Nigeria, Dr Goodluck Ebele Jonathan.

Last Monday during a meeting summoned with Federal Ministry of Education, Ministry of Finance, NBTE, NCCE and other relevant stakeholders at the presidential Villa purposely to end the lingering strike embarked by the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics. (ASUP), the President, GoodLuck Jonathan ordered that the sum of 20.6 Billion naira be payed to the Union.

Also the editing and Adoption of Need Assessment committee Report for polytechnics and Colleges of Education by the Committee,ASUP, Federal Ministry of Education, NBTE and NCCE which was done last week Friday, the report is expected to be presented this Wednesday, 9th April, 2014 at the Federal Executive Council meeting for approval and implementation with release of Fund required.

We are certain that the end of the ASUP Strike is near.
