Yet, the source of their sadness is no where in sight.
The sadness stems from the death of two members of the prominent Oniru family during a spiritual bath.
And though the Police in Lagos State have arrested a member of the New Cherubim and Seraphim Church in Ajah area of the state over the death of Abiodun and Ayinde Oniru during a spiritual bath over the weekend, the pastor who conducted the exercise, Samuel Olusoji, is no where to be found.
Abiodun (23) and Ayinde (20), both of the same parents, and one of their step brothers with an undisclosed identity, were said to have been taken to the church by their father and step mother on Thursday.
The spiritual cleansing was to last for three days.
The bath was to take place at Ogombo area of Ajah.
However, Abiodun and Ayinde reportedly drowned during the spiritual bath.
What saved their step brother was that he had walked out on the pastor during the course of the spiritual cleansing.
When policemen from Ogombo Police Station visited the church at 739, Ori-Oke Ibukun Ilasan Street, Jakande Ajah, on Saturday, members of the church took to their heels.
Only the secretary of the church could be apprehended by the policemen.
The pastor also escaped.
