Mr. Ogbonaya Onu has been appointed by President Muhammadu Buhari as the new Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF).
Though unconfirmed, this marks the first official appointment by the President since assuming office, May 29,2015.
The appointment was announced by a twitter account believed to belong to the All Progressives Congress, APC, @APCSituationrm.
Ogbonaya Onu, according to his Wikipedia profile was the first Executive Governor of Abia State.
He was the National Chairman of the All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP) until its amalgamation with other Nigerian opposition parties in February 2013 resulted in the creation of the All Progressives Congress.
